Finally home!

The Orlando trip was a blast! I'll be uploading pictures from the events/ parks within the next few hours.

Updated ETA - 7:30-7:45 pm

The band is rolling and a bit ahead of schedule.  The latest estimate just before 6:00 was the band would arrive at DGS sometime between 7:30pm-7:45pm.  If this time changes, a new ETA will be posted on the blog.  Mike K
We are half way home and I can't believe that the trip is over. Time goes by fast when you're having fun. Yesterday, we went to Universal Studios and the Jazz Band performed on the main entrance to the park and they sounded great. Last night we went to a really bad pirate dinner show and loaded the buses at 10:30. I do have pictures but have been having difficulty sending them, but as soon as we get home, I'll get them posted.

Until later

Islands of Adventure: Live the adventure of a lifetime

UnivStudios The band spends its last day in Orlando at Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure, with a performance by the Jazz Band at 11:20am on the City Walk Stage, followed by lunch for all in the park.  After a Pirates Dinner Adventure, featuring music, action, romance & comedy (and food, of course), the band loads the buses late this evening and begins the trip back home.  The group is expected to arrive at DGS around 9:00pm Thursday.  Any changes or updates to the ETA will be posted on the blog page.

After pulling our money together we were able to buy hornish a full head of hair...we bought him a visor that has hair attached to the top from Ron Jon Surf Shop. It looks amazing.
Good morning. We had a fantastic time in Magic Kingdom. The sun came out as soon as we arrived and it turned out to be a beautiful day. The parade was awesome as the band marched for over 10,000 people down Main Street.

Today we're heading for the beach. More later and I hope to have pictures.

Day 4: It's raining and we're in Epcot today. We're expecting rain for thr remainder of the day and then overnight. It should be nice the rest of the week. Last night's award ceremony was pretty cool. Disney knows how to do things right. The band received a superior rating and a Festival Disney trophy.
Regardless of the rain, we're still having fun.
Its raining =|
There is nothing like lunch in Italy.

Sunday at Epcot | Walt Disney World Resort

EpcotThe band spends today at Epcot.  After lunch, members of the Color Guard move to rehearsal rooms for the Animal Kingdom to participate in Disney’s “Auxiliration” Workshop, where they will rehearse and perform a routine with choreography, flags and show props.  After dinner in the park, the band goes backstage at Epcot into a recording studio for Disney’s “You’re Instrumental” Workshop, where they will rehearse and record their own soundtrack to a Disney animated feature.

Spectacular performance, we got to warm up in a backstage prop room, i hope to see some hardware later on after the award ceremony to show for it.
Competition went very well. The band sounded fantastic. One of the judges only had suggestions because they played so well and said that's why we will get "high marks". Congrats to Mr. Hornish and the DGS Symphonic Band.
