September 17, 2011 - "Double Header" Competitions

Congratulations to the Marching Mustangs for placing 3rd in their class in Preliminary competition and 6th overall in the Finals competition at the Lake Park Lancer Joust held this past Saturday. Our next competition is a "Double Header" with the first competition being held at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Hickory Hills and the second competition at Wheaton North High School, in Wheaton. Attached is the Itinerary for your information
of the day. The Boosters are working through the logistics of this double competition regarding dinner arrangements for the students, volunteers for pit and chaperone assistance and will send updated information as soon as it is worked out. Cathy

ITINERARY FOR SEPTEMBER 17, 2011

STAGG JAMBOREE & WHEATON NORTH FALCON TOURNAMENT
Amos Alonzo Stagg HS – Hickory Hills, IL
Wheaton North HS – Wheaton, IL


9:45 AM Rehearsal begins at DGS with stretching
12:00 PM Final Run-Through - Pit begins packing trailer – All eat sack lunch brought from home
12:30 PM Load busses (see bus groups below)

1:15 PM Depart for A. A. Stagg School
2:00 PM Arrive at Stagg HS – Change into uniforms (bathrooms in building if needed) stretching in parking lot
3:00 PM Depart for warm-up area B – Jackets, Gauntlets, and gloves on, carry hats
3:15 PM Warm-up begins
3:45 PM Depart for competition field
4:00 PM Stagg HS Performance
4:15 PM Return to busses – change out of uniforms – pack and then return to field area – eat dinner at concessions (money from home)
5:15 PM Load Busses to travel to Wheaton North HS
5:30 PM Depart for Wheaton North HS

6:00 PM Arrive at Wheaton North HS - Change into uniforms (bathrooms in building if needed) re-stretching in parking lot
6:45 PM Depart for Warm-up Area
7:05 PM Warm-up Begins
7:35 PM Depart Warm-up

8:00 PM Wheaton North Performance

8:15 PM Return to busses – change out of uniforms – return to field area – eat at concessions if desired
9:00 PM Wheaton North Awards (2 drum majors and one guard captain in uniform)
9:45 PM Stagg Awards (a drum major and two guard captains in uniform will be transported back to Stagg for these awards)
9:30 PM Load busses and return to DGS
10:00 PM Arrive at DGS and unload – put uniforms away


NOTES:

· Bring money for dinner at the concession stands at Stagg and or Wheaton North HS, a sack lunch for after the morning rehearsal, and be sure to eat a good breakfast
· Check with your section leader for packing directions of uniforms and equipment
· Please represent your band, school and community with pride and respect in everything you do, all day and evening

· Bus 1 – Color Guard, Drum Majors (31) all equipment on bus
· Bus 2 – Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxes (31)
· Bus 3 – Trumpets, Mellos, Bones, Baritones (31) Mellos, Baritones in Hunsinger Trailer
· Bus 4 – Battery,Pit, Sousas, Low Reeds (32) all percussion equipment in trailer, mini-bus, or Hunsinger truck
